What’s Going On?
Hey guys! So, some pretty serious news has come out about Choi Jung-won, who many of you might remember from the iconic K-pop duo UN. According to legal sources, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office has requested that the police conduct a supplementary investigation into stalking allegations against him.
The case was originally handed over to the prosecution by the police last month, on November 12th, with the recommendation to indict him on charges of violating stalking laws. But now, about a month later, the prosecutors have sent it back, which usually means they think there are some missing pieces to the puzzle that need to be filled in before they can make a final decision.
The Allegations
The whole situation started back in August 2025. Choi Jung-won is accused of repeatedly visiting the home of a woman, who has been described as his former partner. The situation was serious enough that police sought an emergency restraining order against him, which the court approved. This order prohibits him from going within 100 meters of the victim or contacting her through phone or messages. There were also initial reports that he possessed a weapon during one of the incidents, though he has strongly denied this.
Choi Jung-won’s Side of the Story
Choi Jung-won has publicly addressed the situation, stating that this is all a misunderstanding that stemmed from a personal argument with his girlfriend. He has claimed that emotions ran high and things got blown out of proportion. He firmly denies the stalking allegations and especially the claim that he used a weapon, stating that his girlfriend also denies these parts of the story.

What Happens Now?
With the case being sent back to the police, it’s a bit of a waiting game. The police will now have to dig deeper into the incident to satisfy the prosecutor’s request. The specific reasons why the prosecution wants another look haven’t been revealed, so we don’t know what aspects they found lacking in the initial investigation. For now, Choi Jung-won’s legal troubles continue as the investigation is reopened. We’ll have to keep an eye out for further updates.
