What’s Going On With Korea’s Top TV Hosts?

They’re basically the faces of the mega-hit show ‘I Live Alone’ (나 혼자 산다), but right now, they’re making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Jun Hyun-moo Investigated for In-Car IV Drip
First up is Jun Hyun-moo. The police have officially started an investigation after a complaint was filed about him getting an IV drip in his car. This whole thing actually comes from a scene way back in a 2016 episode of ‘I Live Alone.’ The show aired a clip of him getting a vitamin drip in his car while moving between his super hectic schedules. At the time, it was just seen as a sign of how hardworking he was, but now it’s being questioned as a potential violation of medical laws.
His agency, SM C&C, quickly responded to the investigation. They stated that the IV was a perfectly legal medical treatment prescribed by a doctor at a hospital because he was suffering from severe laryngitis. They explained that because he had another filming schedule immediately after, the doctor decided it was okay to finish the drip in the car. To back this up, they even released his medical records from that day in 2016, showing the doctor’s diagnosis and prescription. So, they’re insisting it was all legitimate and they’re cooperating fully with the police.
Park Na-rae’s Luxury Home Under Provisional Seizure
At the same time, we have this crazy news about Park Na-rae. A court has started the legal process to put a provisional seizure on her gorgeous house in Itaewon, Seoul. This means she could be temporarily blocked from selling or transferring it.
The request came from two of her former managers. They are accusing her of severe workplace harassment, including verbal abuse and even assault. As part of their lawsuit, they asked the court to seize her property, and the court has now issued a “collateral security order.” This is basically the first step where the court tells the managers to deposit some money just in case the seizure turns out to be wrongful. Once they do that, the seizure is expected to be approved.
Of course, Park Na-rae’s side is fighting back, denying all the claims and suing the former managers for blackmail. This is all happening while she’s already dealing with another huge scandal involving an unlicensed medical practitioner (nicknamed the ‘Injector Auntie’), which already forced her to step down from all her TV shows.
