Major YouTuber + Dangerous Diet Pills = Big Trouble
Hey guys! So, something pretty serious is blowing up right now involving one of the most famous mukbang YouTubers in Korea, ‘Haetnim The Short Mouth’ (입짧은햇님). You probably know her for her super chill and amazing eating shows. But recently, she’s been linked to a controversy over some diet pills, and a pharmacist has come forward with a terrifying warning about them.
A pharmacist named Park Ji-in posted a video on her YouTube channel titled, “The Diet Pills Received by Haetnim… Absolutely Do Not Be Curious or Take Them (A Story of a Police Investigation Following a Patient’s Death).” The video is going viral because of the shocking claims about the drug’s true nature.
What Exactly Are These Pills?
According to the pharmacist, the diet pills in question are a phentermine-based drug often called “Nabi-yak” (나비약), or “Butterfly Pill,” because of its shape. While it’s a prescribed appetite suppressant, she warns it’s essentially an amphetamine-like drug. In her words, it’s “similar to methamphetamine.” Can you believe that? It’s classified as a psychotropic drug and is so strictly controlled that pharmacies have to keep it locked in a safe.
The drug works by making your brain release dopamine and norepinephrine, which makes you feel excited and kills your appetite. The weight loss effects are fast, but so is the tolerance, which is why it’s only supposed to be used for a few weeks.

A Pharmacist’s Chilling Story
The most frightening part of the video was the pharmacist’s personal experience. She recalled a time when she was working at a pharmacy near a large hospital and a female patient was repeatedly prescribed a similar mix of drugs. One day, the police showed up at the pharmacy. The patient had passed away, and they were investigating the drugs as a potential cause. The pharmacist said that seeing the news about Haetnim’s situation immediately reminded her of that tragic incident.
The Bigger Picture: “Injection Aunt” Scandal
This whole thing is part of a larger scandal involving an “Injection Aunt” who allegedly performed illegal medical procedures. Haetnim was reportedly a client and has been accused of getting these diet pills and IV drips from this person, who she says she believed was a real doctor. Following the news, Haetnim has apologized for the situation and has paused all her YouTube activities while the investigation is ongoing.
It’s a really sad and scary story that highlights the extreme pressures people, especially celebrities, face to lose weight in Korea. The pharmacist strongly urged people to lose weight safely and to never even be curious about pills like this, because the risks, including addiction, depression, and even death, are just not worth it.
