Comedian Jeong Hyeong-don Calls Out Vicious Rumors
Hey everyone! So, some pretty upsetting news has been making the rounds concerning one of Korea’s most well-known comedians, Jeong Hyeong-don. You might know him from shows like “Weekly Idol” or “Infinite Challenge.” Recently, he took to his own YouTube channel, ‘MungchinTV’, to personally shut down some nasty fake news that’s been spreading about his wife, Han Yu-ra.

Apparently, a YouTube Shorts video titled ‘The Reason Jeong Hyeong-don’s Wife Han Yu-ra Is Being Insulted’ went viral, and it was filled with completely baseless, hurtful claims. Jeong Hyeong-don was visibly angry and devastated as he read the rumors aloud, saying things like, “Why is my wife being insulted?” and “It’s ridiculous that I have to explain this.”
What Was the Fake News About?
The rumors were pretty awful and seemed designed to paint his wife in the worst possible light. The fake news claimed that because his wife and daughters are currently living in Hawaii for the kids’ education, he became a lonely “goose father” (a Korean term for men who work in Korea while their family lives abroad) and that this separation caused him to develop mental health issues and halt his broadcasting career.
What really set him off, though, was an outrageous lie that his wife didn’t even come back to Korea for his own mother’s funeral. He immediately and furiously corrected this, shouting, “She came. She came with the kids and the kids’ mother. Of course she came.” The video also made false claims about their finances and marriage registration being delayed due to debt, which he also clarified were not true.
Pleading for a Stop to Malicious Content
What seemed to hurt Jeong Hyeong-don the most was seeing that the video had over 5,000 comments, meaning thousands of people were watching and likely believing these lies. “Are people allowed to just butcher a happy, well-living family like this?” he asked, expressing his deep hurt.
He directly addressed the creators of such content, questioning how they could make money from spreading lies that cause so much pain. “Let’s not make money from things like this in 2026. Let’s live like human beings,” he pleaded. This isn’t the first time his family has been targeted by baseless rumors and hate comments related to them living in Hawaii, which makes the situation even sadder.

The Dark Side of Online Content
This whole incident is a really unfortunate reminder of the dark side of YouTube and online platforms, where sensational fake news can be created and spread for clicks and profit, with no regard for the real people it harms. It’s heartbreaking to see a family targeted like this. Hopefully, by speaking out directly, Jeong Hyeong-don can put a stop to these rumors and encourage people to think twice before believing or sharing such malicious content. Our hearts go out to him and his family!
